Again we have been working hard through the winter. Changes this year are improved drainage on the lower pitches and a roadway between the camping pod’s.
We have also installed faster WI-FI which now works across the entire site and we are certain you will all enjoy it.
Don’t forget that we now have static caravans available. They are 2 bedroom and sleep up to 6. There are more details on the statics page.
Also added last year were the extremely popular camping pods. Everyone who used them loved them. More details on the camping pods page Under the Camping pod’s heading where you will find some pictures.
They come with 16 amp electric and internal lights and all bedding, Sheets, pillows and mattresses and sleep up to 4 people. They also have a small private lawn area with their own barbecue. Fridges, picnic baskets containing cutlery, crockery and plastic glasses plus water carriers are all available to hire but make sure you book them, we don’t have many!
Also to help the environment we have replaced our old septic tanks with a water treatment plant.
Gold Conservation Award
We are delighted to tell you that Old Barn Touring Park has been selected by Professor David Bellamy to receive a GOLD CONSERVATION AWARD. Granted only to parks which have demonstrated a sound commitment to the natural world. The David Bellamy Award is described by Professor Bellamy as the “Green Olympics” – and go only to parks which help protect and enhance the natural environment. We are particularly proud that his decision to make this award was based partly on the opinions of our holidaymakers. It was their comments about our park which helped to convince Professor Bellamy that Old Barn Touring was deserving of this conservation honour.
Gold Green Island Award
We are delighted to tell you that Old Barn Touring Park has also received a GOLD Green Island Award. Green Island is a programme aimed at developing a more sustainable, environmentally sensitive tourism industry across the Isle of Wight. All businesses who are members of the Green Island Awards Scheme and are all graded with either Gold, Silver or Bronze standards depending on their commitment to improved environmental, economic & social performance.
